Yep, it’s all true! I’ve been designing websites since 2002—though let’s be honest, they weren’t as flash back then. Like any craft, it takes time to get good. Also, when I say "our success" and "our websites", I really mean me (and now Zac). I do most of the work myself—just like many small business owners out there.
That "quality design meets functionality" stuff? It’s earned through 200+ builds and thousands of hours learning what works (and what doesn’t). I can build whatever layout or design you have in mind, but if it goes against established web best practices, I’ll flag it and explain why it might impact performance or rankings. In the end, the choice is yours—but it's worth considering the long-term results before locking it in.

Our websites are primarily built using the Joomla content management system, enhanced with carefully chosen components, modules, and plugins we've sourced over the years to make things more user-friendly and powerful.
We also work with WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and other platforms. If you're using something different, get in touch—we may still be able to help.
All websites are built using the latest software versions to ensure strong security and optimal performance. We use the YOOtheme Pro Page Builder as our core framework, giving you a site that’s easy to manage—whether you're dragging and dropping or tweaking code and CSS.

A 1/3 (33%) deposit of quote estimation is required for work to start on your project. DP Web Design will send you all the information you need to gather your website or project content. We've done this hundreds of times, but you haven't, so we'll guide you through every step.

If you know what you want and all information is supplied a website can be completed in as little as 3 days (develop, review then finalise), but realistically the standard site is usually finished within 1 to 3 weeks from project start.

Honestly, the sales pitch is what everyone wants to hear and the truth is that I want to finish the project as quick as possible and get paid, but real world problems sometimes happen.

I can only estimate how long it will take to build your site. I allot 20-30 hours for a base build/standard site so in theory your site could be completed within 20-30 hours. Naturally this is unrealistic as I am a freelance/one man developer and my work time is divided up with other client's requests and standard hour workdays.
These are common things that slow a website build time:
1. my workload.
2. your workload.
3. other client emergencies (e.g. eCommerce store issues that need to be fix immediately by me).
4. slow supply of content (e.g. images, videos, copy text, artwork etc.)
5. slow email or call replies on both sides, this falls under and is usually caused by workload. It is great to say this won't happen, but we live in the real world with real time limits.

There's no 10 project portfolio here, take the time to look through our LARGE portfolio and notice the attention to detail with every website we build, and we've built hundreds over the years.

When I complete a website, I add it to my portfolio, so if you're looking at some of the live sites and they may seem a little out of whack, just remember all my clients have 100% access to the site and can do whatever they want with it once it is handed over. I know it sounds like I'm passing the buck here, but I'm a little OCD when it comes to the look and layout of my sites. Every pixel in its place.
